Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Shot

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Shot
Vanilla vodka makes the shooter taste like actual cake batter, while fresh pineapple juice and cherry grenadine give it a fruity zing.
Author:
Ingredients
  • 2 oz shot glass
  • ¾ oz vanilla vodka
  • ¾ oz pineapple juice
  • 1 splash grenadine
Instructions
  1. Pour the vanilla vodka into the shot glass.
  2. Add the pineapple juice.
  3. Add a splash of grenadine and let it settle at the bottom for a moment before serving.
  4. Preparing this shot is a piece of cake (don’t worry, that’s the last cake pun we can think of). And you don’t have to be a professional bartender to pull off a stacked shot. (But if you make these for your friends they might be so impressed that they try to tip you anyways.) All you have to do is recall the theory of specific gravity from your high school physics class. No? OK just remember this: alcohol floats, and sugar sinks — which is why you’ll end up with a red layer of grenadine on the bottom, and yellow layer of pineapple-spiked vodka on top.
