2 oz blanco (silver) tequila
1½ oz blackberry syrup (recipe above)
1½ oz fresh lime juice
2 oz soda water

Instructions
blackberry simple syrup
Combine blackberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, and cook 3- 5 minutes until berries soften. Use a cocktail muddler or potato masher to mash up berries and cook another minute. Remove from heat and let cool 10- 15 minutes to let flavors steep. Strain syrup through a fine mesh sieve and discard solids.

Combine tequila, blackberry syrup and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain drink into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. Top with soda water.
To float the red wine, gently pour wine over the back of a spoon held just over the drink’s surface. Garnish with fresh blackberries and enjoy immediately.
